Dorothy H. McDaniel - Director of Administration Dorothy McDaniel has held various positions at the American Defense Institute since the organization was founded in 1983 and presently serves as Director of Administration. She is the wife of ADI President Captain Eugene "Red" McDaniel and the author of After the Hero's Welcome, the story of her family's experiences after Captain McDaniel returned from communist captivity. While her husband was a prisoner of war in Vietnam, Dorothy McDaniel was one of the founders of the National League of Families of Prisoners and Missing in Southeast Asia and served as state coordinator for POW/MIA families living in Virginia. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Dorothy is a former high school English teacher and former press secretary for a U.S.congressman. Dorothy is the mother of three children and the grandmother of eight grandchildren and lives with her husband in Alexandria, Virginia. |
