The Visit
by Dianne Rierson

An Angel came to visit me
I could not understand,
But as she looked me in the eyes
She said "Your destiny is planned."

We have a special task for you,
Many need your help today.
I really don't know what to do
But I'll help in any way.

She told me about a war in Nam
That almost broke my heart.
I then saw my life's purpose
And said "I'd do my part."

She said you can't forget them
These men who gave their all.
You've got to let the people know
On that, you must stand tall.

You'll get some opposition
From those who do not care.
But you've got to get the word out,
It's a burden you must bear.

Don't ever get discouraged.
They're our heroes of the past.
They gave their life for freedom
Make sure this word you cast.

Carry this your burden proudly
Until you can face HIM
Tell him that you did your all,
And never let your faith grow dim.

Also upon taking my grandson to the Wall and trying to explain to him
what it was all about these questions came to me......

FROM THE MOUTH OF A CHILD
by Dianne Rierson

Why are we going to this wall grandmother?
Why are there names on the wall like that?
Why is that lady over there crying?
Why is this place so sad?
Why are some of these people still missing?
Why did they have to fight a war?

WHY? &NBSp WHY? &NBSp WHY?

Even I have to ask WHY?

Thank you for all of your support and encouragement.

A faithful member...
