Veterans Day
by Chris Rich

Once again this sacred day is among us. One, that many do not understand or want to understand. All they know is that this is a day that they have off, either from work or from school. After all What is a Veteran and why do we celebrate a day just for them.

What is a Veteran to me?

A Veteran is someone that is I Love. they Loved this country so much the gave of themselves, they gave of their families. They did not run when they were asked to fight. they Fought for you and me. They fought for our country even if they weren't treated fair at home when they came home. Even if they were treated like criminal when they returned from where Our government asked them to go. Did they go run a and hide? NO Did they do what was asked from from the govt.? Yes Did/Do they love our Country? Yes Did some not come home? Yes Are some still serving? Yes Did we, as a country, forget about our Vets, My Heroes? YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why did we do this? Was it easier to forget and shun Our Heroes than to give them the thanks and the praise they deserved? Why did we think so badly about our vets, My Heroes? I can tell you if you really don't know already but if you don't it was because of the Media.

Any way. If it wasn't for the Vets I would not be here right now being able to type away on the puter, yes I call this typing. but if I wasn't in a free country, one that was made by the blood of OUR UnSung Heroes Yes they are our Veterans. I would not have the freedom to say what I think. I would not have the right to write a letter to my government and tell them what I think. In Fat we would have NO rights No Freedoms, No CHoices. We would have nothing. Now I know this is really jumbled and I probably don't make any sense right now. but if is wasn't for the Veterans where would we be? These are the Men and Women that served our country when we asked them too, many even volunteered for the missions. I can think of 3 besides my dad who did, who are still serving.

But to the Kids of those Still Serving, the Veterans are a special group to us. without the Veterans we, the Kids, would have little information about our Fathers, You see the Veterans are our bloodline, through you We can find out more about our Fathers. What were they like? What did they do? How did they talk? How did they walk....................................................... YOu get the idea. See so many of our Family members that can remember have chosen to forget. But to me the highest position in this Whole World is NOT, being a President, or a Senator, or a CEO of a Major Company, or a Doctor or a Bazillionare. No it is not any of them it is being a UNITED STATES VETERAN

Thank you one and all.
