Operation Just Cause...                                                              ...for as long as it takes
Minnesota--The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) is offering bonuses to Minnesota residents who served on active military duty from August 2, 1990 to July 31, 1991 during the Persian Gulf War. Those holding the southeast Asia Service Medal can receive $600. Other veterans of that period, who were stationed outside the theater, may apply for a $300 bonus.
State National Guard and Reserve troops may also claim these amounts under the same conditions if they were called away because of the crisis in Southwest Asia rather than for routine training. The Minnesota VA program also contains a single benefit payment of $2,000 to survivors of state residents who died in the Persian Gulf War combat zone. All claimants must have their Gulf War service time recorded on their DD214 discharge form for verification.
For more information, contact the MDVA Persian Gulf War Bonus Division at 1-651-297-4932.
