Operation Just Cause...                                                                                                      ...for as long as it takes
Washington, D.C. (August 10, 1999) Country star Tracy
Lawrence will entertain American service members overseas with
a USO tour on August 19-31. The tour, which will stop at U.S.
military bases in Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, and
Iceland, is sponsored by Armed Forces Entertainment and World
Partnership Sponsors AT&T, USAA, Nicorette/NicoDerm CQ,
and Yahoo!.
During the USO tour, Lawrence will give free performances for
the troops, sign autographs, and tour military facilities.
Accompanying Lawrence will be comedienne Jennifer Rawlings,
who will provide the opening act for the performances.
"Tracy Lawrence joins a growing list of country artists who have
given their time and talents to ‘deliver America’ to the troops,"
said General Carl E. Mundy, President and CEO of World USO.
"I am pleased to welcome him to the USO family."
Lawrence was born in Texas and raised in Foreman, Arkansas.
His debut album "Sticks and Stones" reached platinum status and
spawned multiple #1 hits. In 1993, Lawrence’s album "Alibis"
produced three #1 singles, and that same year, the Academy of
Country Music named him its Best New Male Vocalist. In his
five-year career, Lawrence has produced 17 #1 hit singles, and
amassed five critically-acclaimed albums including "I See It Now"
and "Time Marches On." Lawrence will bring his own television
crew to record the concerts and document his first USO tour. The
